Dharti, a new Punjabi movie will be released in April, 2011. This movie will be released nationally with a dubbed version in Hindi also.
The movie is named as “Dharti” because the movie belongs to the soil of Punjab showing patriotism towards Punjab. The movie has been casted mostly in Chandigarh (Punjab’s capital).
After giving two tremendous hits namely “Mel Karade Rabba” and “Tera Mera KI Rishta”, the director Navniat Singh is hoping much from his third film titled Dharti. The Film revolves around Jimmy Sheirgill who is acting as an Air Force Pilot in the movie. Japji Khehra is acting opposite to Jimmy Sheirgill which will turn the movie, a dramatic thriller.
The film is being produced by Jimmy Shergill and Darshan Singh Grewal. Darshan was the Executive producer in Ekam, the son of soil while Sheirgill is a super talented actor who had debued his Bollywood carrier 13 years back with Gulzar’s Maachis.
Various roles of the movie are distributed amongst Raj Babbar, Prem Chopra, Rahul Dev, Surveen Chawla, Rannvijay – the famous VJ, Binnu Dhillon, Rahul Vaidya, Pramod Matho, Shavinder Mahal and Urvashi
While Navniat Singh has signed a number of famous singers for the songs in the movie like Mika Singh, Daler Mehndi, Neeraj Shreedhar and Rabbi Shergill. These singers are popular at India level and have given their voices to the songs of this movie.
